This page sets out everything Sendd charges. It forms part of the Sendd Terms of Use. Where any other Sendd page describes a fee differently, this page is the one that applies.
There is no monthly subscription. There is no listing fee and no charge for additional products, storage or bandwidth. Sendd never charges buyers anything. A store can choose to pass its own costs on at checkout, which is that store’s charge to its customer, not ours. See section 10.

How we collect
Two mechanisms, depending on whether the payment runs through a provider Sendd orchestrates.
Deducted from your proceeds. Where the payment runs through an integrated payment provider or a marketplace cart, what is owed is deducted from the allocation before the balance reaches you. Sendd instructs that allocation; it does not receive or hold the money.
Billed to your card on file, monthly. Where the buyer pays you directly, using Bank2Bank or another direct method, there is no payment in the flow to deduct from. We calculate what is owed on your sales volume for the month and charge the card on your Sendd account, in arrears. Your dashboard shows the calculation before and after it is charged.
Keep a valid card on your account if you use any method that bills this way. If a charge fails we retry and tell you; if it stays unpaid we may suspend the affected payment methods or paid features, and recover the amount from other proceeds due to you.
Card-on-file billing is performed by Sendd, Inc. through its master payment account, whichever Sendd entity you contract with.
1. Platform fee: 1%
1% of the total cart value.
- The base is the final amount the buyer pays for the cart, after any discounts and including sales tax and shipping.
- It is deducted from your proceeds, or billed monthly to your card on file where the buyer paid you directly. It is charged to you rather than your buyer, unless you switch on the option in section 10.
- For New Zealand merchants it is quoted GST-inclusive. GST is extracted from the inclusive amount at 3/23; it is not added on top.
New Zealand example. A buyer pays NZ$230, being NZ$200 of goods and NZ$30 of shipping, GST included. The platform fee is NZ$2.30, GST-inclusive. You receive NZ$227.70 before payment processing.
United States example. A buyer pays US$108, being US$100 of goods and US$8 of sales tax. The platform fee is US$1.08. You receive US$106.92 before processing.
How fees and tax sit together in your own books is a question for your accountant, and it works the same way here as on any other platform or payment processor.
2. Bank2Bank, New Zealand only
Where a buyer pays by direct bank transfer:
- The 1% platform fee does not apply.
- A flat NZ$0.30 per transaction applies instead, regardless of order value.
- Available in New Zealand only.
A NZ$1,000 Bank2Bank order costs NZ$0.30, not NZ$10.
Because the buyer pays you directly, Bank2Bank fees are billed to your card on file monthly rather than deducted from a payment.
3. Marketplace sales
Selling through a Sendd.market marketplace, three charges apply to the same sale. They are cumulative, not alternatives.
| Charge | Set by | Typical |
|---|---|---|
| Marketplace commission | The operator | 8–15% |
| Sendd platform fee | Sendd | 1% |
| Payment processing | The payment provider | 2.9% US domestic, 5.4% international. See section 8 |
Sendd takes 20% of the operator’s commission, and the operator keeps 80%. That split comes out of the commission the operator already charges. It is not an additional charge to the seller.
Marketplace fees always come out of seller proceeds. The option in section 10 to pass fees on to buyers is never available on marketplace orders.
Example. A NZ$1,000 cart on a marketplace charging 10%:
| Marketplace commission | NZ$100. Operator keeps NZ$80, Sendd takes NZ$20 |
| Sendd platform fee (1%) | NZ$10 |
| Seller receives | NZ$890 before payment processing |
All-in on a marketplace charging 10%, a seller typically lands around 17 to 18 percent once processing, currency conversion and payout are counted. The exception is a US seller with US buyers, at about 14.1%, because USD is never converted at either end. The most expensive of our markets is Australia at about 18.1%. Section 8 works this through market by market, with the arithmetic shown.
New Zealand GST. Sendd’s 1% and Sendd’s 20% share are GST-inclusive. An operator’s advertised commission is also GST-inclusive where that operator is GST-registered. An operator who is not registered charges the same cash amount with no GST.
4. Shipping service fee
Charged per label, to the merchant, deducted from proceeds.
It does not apply to every label. Some of the shipping services available through Sendd cost us nothing to provide, and labels on those carry no Sendd fee at any volume. Where providing a shipping service does carry a cost to us, this fee helps cover it.
Your dashboard tells you which before you buy. The fee, or the absence of one, is shown at the point you choose a service, so you are never guessing.
This is a fee for Sendd’s shipping software. It is not postage, and it is not a markup on postage. Postage is charged to you directly by the shipping provider, under your own account with them, funded from your own balance.
Based on your own count of fee-bearing labels for the calendar month. Labels on services that carry no fee are free and are not counted.
| Fee-bearing labels in the month | Fee per label |
|---|---|
| First 500 | US$0.20, or the equivalent in your billing currency |
| 501 and beyond | Free |
The ceiling is a label count, not a dollar figure. Once you have paid the fee on 500 fee-bearing labels in a calendar month, every further label that month is free, however many you buy. The count resets at the start of each calendar month.
| Fee-bearing labels in the month | You pay the fee on |
|---|---|
| 50 | 50 labels |
| 250 | 250 labels |
| 500 | 500 labels |
| 2,000 | 500 labels |
| 10,000 | 500 labels |
Return labels. Charged at the same rate as any other label, and they count towards your 500.
Voided labels. Free. If you create a label and then void it, we waive the fee. Voided labels do not count towards your 500 either, so voiding labels does not bring your free labels forward.
Voiding still costs us something, so we keep an eye on void rates and may get in touch if one looks unreasonable. For ordinary mistakes, a wrong address or a cancelled order, you will never hear from us.
For New Zealand merchants these amounts are GST-inclusive.
5. Credits, for Rocky and marketing email
Rocky is Sendd’s AI assistant. Rocky and marketing email are both metered in credits and draw on the same balance.
| Price | 1,000 credits = US$5 (US$0.005 per credit) |
| Free allowance | 2,000 credits per store, per month |
| Does the allowance roll over? | No. It resets at the start of each month. |
| Do purchased credits expire? | No. |
| What happens at zero? | Rocky and marketing sends pause. Neither overdraws, and you are never billed for an overrun. Transactional and announcement email is not metered and keeps working. |
| Auto top-up | Off unless you switch it on. You set the purchase amount and a monthly cap on automatic purchases. |
| Display | Every credit figure is shown with an approximate USD amount beside it. |
As a rough guide, the free monthly allowance covers around 150 first page builds or 400–500 edits, before any email sending.
Account closure. If you close your account, unused credits lapse. We show your balance and warn you before you confirm. If we close your account for any reason other than your breach, or if we withdraw Rocky, we refund your unused purchased credits. The free monthly allowance is never refundable.
Credits are a prepaid balance for Sendd’s own service. They are not money, not a deposit, not transferable between accounts and not redeemable for cash.
6. Custom domains
US$50, once. No renewal, no recurring charge.
It unlocks custom domains on your account for as long as your account exists. Point a different domain at your store later and you do not pay again.
It covers connecting and running the domain on Sendd, including issuing and renewing the security certificate. It does not include registering or renewing the domain name itself. You buy and hold that directly with your registrar, and it stays yours.
A connected custom domain is also what unlocks marketing email, since marketing sends go out from your domain rather than ours. See section 7.
Not refundable once the domain is connected, except where the law requires otherwise or we have made an error.
7. Email
Transactional and announcement email is free and unmetered. Order confirmations, shipping updates, receipts, booking reminders and event announcements all send through Sendd’s own infrastructure at no charge, and keep working even at a zero credit balance.
Marketing email needs a custom domain and uses credits. Campaigns, newsletters and promotional sends go out from your own connected domain, so your sending reputation stays yours rather than being pooled with every other Sendd store. Sends draw on the same credit balance as Rocky.
8. Currency conversion and payouts on marketplace sales
Sendd charges nothing for currency conversion or payouts, and takes no share of either. Everything in this section is charged by our payment partner at their published rates and comes out of the seller’s proceeds. We pass it through untouched.
Marketplace payments settle in US dollars
This is the part that surprises people, so it is worth being direct about it.
Marketplace payments are settled in US dollars, whatever currency the buyer paid in. That means a marketplace sale in any other currency is converted twice on its way to the seller: once from the buyer’s currency into USD, and once from USD into the seller’s payout currency.
It applies even when the buyer and seller are in the same country. A New Zealand buyer purchasing from a New Zealand seller on a New Zealand marketplace still goes NZD to USD and back to NZD. Nothing about that transaction is international except the settlement currency, but the conversions are real and so is their cost.
Only sellers paid out in USD avoid this.
What the payout costs
Three charges apply when funds are paid out to a seller. All are the payment partner’s, not ours.
| What it is | |
|---|---|
| Payout fee | US$1.50 per payout, flat |
| Cross-border fee | 0.25% to 1.25% of the amount, by destination country |
| Conversion fee | 0.50% between USD, EUR and GBP. 1% for every other currency. |
Rates for the markets Sendd sells into:
| Seller paid out in | Cross-border | Conversion | Total on payout |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States (USD) | 0.25% | none | 0.25% + US$1.50 |
| United Kingdom (GBP) | 0.25% | 0.50% | 0.75% + US$1.50 |
| Eurozone (EUR) | 0.25% | 0.50% | 0.75% + US$1.50 |
| Canada (CAD) | 0.25% | 1% | 1.25% + US$1.50 |
| New Zealand (NZD) | 0.50% | 1% | 1.50% + US$1.50 |
| Singapore (SGD) | 0.50% | 1% | 1.50% + US$1.50 |
| Hong Kong (HKD) | 0.50% | 1% | 1.50% + US$1.50 |
| South Africa (ZAR) | 0.50% | 1% | 1.50% + US$1.50 |
| India (INR) | 0.75% | 1% | 1.75% + US$1.50 |
| Australia (AUD) | 1.00% | 1% | 2.00% + US$1.50 |
Other destinations run between 0.25% and 1.25% cross-border, plus 1% conversion. Ask us if yours is not listed.
These are our payment partner’s rates as at 24 September 2026, not ours, and they can change them. We will update this page when they do.
The conversion on the way in is separate
The table above covers the payout leg, USD out to the seller. The first conversion, from the buyer’s currency into USD at the time of the sale, is charged separately and at the point of collection:
| Applies when | Rate | |
|---|---|---|
| International card surcharge | The buyer’s card was issued outside the United States | +1.5% |
| Inbound currency conversion | The buyer paid in a currency other than USD | +1% |
Both are added to the standard 2.9% + US$0.30 card rate. For a buyer outside the US paying in their own currency, both apply, making inbound processing 5.4% + US$0.30. The worked examples below show this in full.
Worked examples, by market
Same scenario each time so the markets can be compared: a 1,000 unit marketplace sale in the seller’s own local currency, on a marketplace charging 10% commission, card payment, seller paid out locally.
Read the processing line carefully. It is not the same in every market, and that is where most of the difference comes from.
Marketplace payments are collected through a United States payment account. That has three consequences for a seller outside the US:
| Applies when | Rate | |
|---|---|---|
| Base card processing | Always | 2.9% + US$0.30 |
| International card surcharge | The buyer’s card was issued outside the US | +1.5% |
| Inbound currency conversion | The buyer paid in a currency other than USD | +1% |
For a buyer outside the US paying in their own currency, both add-ons apply, so inbound processing is 5.4% + US$0.30, not 2.9%. A US buyer on a US card paying USD pays neither, and stays at 2.9%.
Then, at the other end, the payout converts USD back into the seller’s currency and charges cross-border and conversion on top. Both legs are shown below.
Flat fees are held in USD rather than converted, because your rate will differ from any rate we pick.
New Zealand: NZ$1,000 sale, NZ seller, NZ buyer
| Cart total | NZ$1,000.00 |
| Marketplace commission, 10% | −NZ$100.00 (operator NZ$80, Sendd NZ$20) |
| Sendd platform fee, 1% | −NZ$10.00 |
| Card processing, 5.4% (2.9% + 1.5% international + 1% conversion) | −NZ$54.00 |
| Before payout | NZ$836.00 |
| Payout cross-border 0.50% + conversion 1% | −NZ$12.54 |
| Seller receives | NZ$823.46, less US$1.80 in flat fees |
Effective cost 17.7%.
Australia: A$1,000 sale, AU seller, AU buyer
| Cart total | A$1,000.00 |
| Marketplace commission, 10% | −A$100.00 |
| Sendd platform fee, 1% | −A$10.00 |
| Card processing, 5.4% | −A$54.00 |
| Before payout | A$836.00 |
| Payout cross-border 1.00% + conversion 1% | −A$16.72 |
| Seller receives | A$819.28, less US$1.80 in flat fees |
Effective cost 18.1%. Australia is the most expensive of our markets, because it carries the highest cross-border payout rate.
United States: US$1,000 sale, US seller, US buyer
| Cart total | US$1,000.00 |
| Marketplace commission, 10% | −US$100.00 |
| Sendd platform fee, 1% | −US$10.00 |
| Card processing, 2.9%. No international surcharge, no conversion | −US$29.00 |
| Before payout | US$861.00 |
| Payout cross-border 0.25%, no conversion | −US$2.15 |
| Seller receives | US$858.85, less US$1.80 in flat fees |
Effective cost 14.1%. A US seller with US buyers is the cheapest case on the platform by a wide margin, because USD never has to be converted at either end.
United Kingdom: £1,000 sale, UK seller, UK buyer
| Cart total | £1,000.00 |
| Marketplace commission, 10% | −£100.00 |

| Before payout | £836.00 |
| Payout cross-border 0.25% + conversion 0.50% | −£6.27 |
| Seller receives | £829.73, less US$1.80 in flat fees |
Effective cost 17.0%. GBP converts at the lower 0.50% payout rate.
Eurozone: €1,000 sale, EU seller, EU buyer
| Cart total | €1,000.00 |
| Marketplace commission, 10% | −€100.00 |
| Sendd platform fee, 1% | −€10.00 |
| Card processing, 5.4% | −€54.00 |
| Before payout | €836.00 |
| Payout cross-border 0.25% + conversion 0.50% | −€6.27 |
| Seller receives | €829.73, less US$1.80 in flat fees |
Effective cost 17.0%.
Canada: C$1,000 sale, CA seller, CA buyer
| Cart total | C$1,000.00 |
| Marketplace commission, 10% | −C$100.00 |
| Sendd platform fee, 1% | −C$10.00 |
| Card processing, 5.4% | −C$54.00 |
| Before payout | C$836.00 |
| Payout cross-border 0.25% + conversion 1% | −C$10.45 |
| Seller receives | C$825.55, less US$1.80 in flat fees |
Effective cost 17.4%.
Side by side
| Seller in | Inbound processing | Payout cost | Receives per 1,000 | Effective cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| United States | 2.9% | 0.25% | 858.85 | 14.1% |
| United Kingdom | 5.4% | 0.75% | 829.73 | 17.0% |
| Eurozone | 5.4% | 0.75% | 829.73 | 17.0% |
| Canada | 5.4% | 1.25% | 825.55 | 17.4% |
| New Zealand | 5.4% | 1.50% | 823.46 | 17.7% |
| Australia | 5.4% | 2.00% | 819.28 | 18.1% |
All figures exclude the US$1.80 of flat fees per transaction and payout.
Three things worth knowing
The gap between the US and everywhere else is about 3.5 percentage points, and most of it is the inbound leg, not the payout. The international card surcharge and the inbound conversion together cost 2.5% before a single dollar has been paid out.
On your own storefront, none of this applies in the same way. These examples are marketplace sales, which settle in USD. A sale on your own Sendd.store storefront settles to your own connected payment account, so there is no round trip through USD unless your buyer paid in a currency other than your own.
The flat fees hurt small orders. US$1.80 on a 1,000 sale is rounding. On a 20 sale it is most of the margin. Payout frequency is a lever: batching payouts means fewer US$1.50 charges, and it is one of the few costs here you control directly.
9. Payment processing and pass-through provider fees
Sendd is payment-method agnostic. Payment processing is charged by the payment provider, not by Sendd, at their rates. It is separate from and in addition to everything above, and it depends on your country, your transaction mix and your provider agreement. Check your provider’s own pricing.
Pass-through provider fees. With some payment methods the provider bills Sendd for your activity rather than taking its fee inside the transaction. Where that happens we bill it to you on the provider’s behalf, monthly, using the same card-on-file mechanism above.
These are passed through at cost. Sendd does not mark them up and does not earn anything on them. They appear as a separate line on your statement, identified as the provider’s charge rather than Sendd’s.
10. Passing fees on to your buyers
Off by default. Leave it off and your buyers never see a Sendd fee or a processing fee.
If you switch it on, your store can add the payment processing cost, Sendd’s 1% platform fee, or both, to what the buyer pays. The amount appears in the order total before the buyer commits.
It is your charge, not Sendd’s. We never charge your buyers. Turning this on means you have chosen to recover your costs through your prices, and you are responsible for it being lawful and properly disclosed.
Where it is not available
- Never on marketplace orders. A marketplace cart spans several sellers and a buyer should not have to work out whose fee is whose.
- Not where surcharging is prohibited or restricted. The rules differ by country, by state and by card scheme, and they change. Where we know a jurisdiction prohibits it, the option is switched off and cannot be enabled. Where we have not blocked it, that is not advice from us that it is lawful for you.
If you use it
Disclose the charge before the buyer commits, never after. Include it in the total price you display. Keep it within any legal or card-scheme cap on what may be recovered. Apply it consistently. Stop using it if the rules where you sell change.
If a payment provider, card scheme or regulator tells us your use of this feature is non-compliant, or we reasonably believe it is, we may switch it off for your store, and we may withdraw the feature in a market entirely.
11. Changes to this page
The version of this page published on our site is always the current one, and it is the version that applies. Previous versions are kept at sendd.store/legal/archive, with a dated changelog.
Corrections, clarifications and reductions take effect when we publish them.
Before we increase a fee you already pay, or start charging for something that is free today, we give at least 30 days’ notice by email and in your dashboard, and you may close your account before it takes effect and owe nothing further.
A new optional paid feature is not that. If we launch something new and you do not switch it on, nothing about what you pay changes, so new features arrive with their price on this page rather than after a waiting period.
Changes required by a payment provider, a carrier, or by law may take effect sooner. Where that happens we will tell you why. Pass-through provider fees in section 9 are set by the provider, not by us, and move when they move.
Rates already charged are not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise or we have made an error.
